James Harcourt (Twisted Frequency -May Chart)
James Harcourt set about making his first tracks back in 2002 using his home PC, Cubase 3.7 and some very poor bundled plug-ins.
The ideas shone through the cheap engineering and the results were immediately snapped up to Release Records in Canada who scored a worldwide progressive smash with "Diaspora" after the original mix was used on John OO Flemings "White Label Euphoria" series of CD's.
Since then, James took a couple of years away from the scene and returned in 2005 with renewed focus & enthusiasm for a vibrant house music scene.
He planned his independent label (Twisted Frequency Recordings) during 2005 and launched it at the start of 2006. Featuring his own works - plus artists & remixers he loved from all over the globe - the label has gone from strength to strength, featuring work from Spirit Catcher, Mike Monday, Lutzenkirchen and Hernán Cattáneo whilst winning praise from all the mags & all the top jocks on merit alone, operating with very little promotion and no management.
James also started to take his own production to a new level in 2006. Since then, his tracks & remixes featuring the sets of many of A-list DJ's. He has won the admiration and explicit praise of Dave Seaman, Hernán Cattáneo, Nic Fanciulli, Sébastien Léger among others. His tracks have been placed onto an impressive list of CD compilation placements, including Erick Morillo's Subliminal Winter Sessions, Hernán Cattáneo's Renaissance Sequential series and Hook'n'Sling's Chew The Fat! CD - true testimony to the global dancefloor appeal of the music.
James 2006 summer release "Loud & Low" was voted best new single by Fergie on Radio 1 - and he was invited to interview for the One-To-One feature on the same show. In 2007 James has released singles for Spin Out Records, Baroque, Bug Eyed and of course his own labels, whislt remixing for Mokilok and producing two massively successful collaborations with Udaye Rana. All this - and some very, very long awaited studio improvements - have set James up for a very exciting 2008!
